Revisiting the Concept of Anatomical Variation: A Theoretical Framework for Understanding Human Body Diversity
Abstract
Human anatomy has traditionally been characterized by a "typical" or "normal" morphology. However, anatomical variation is a ubiquitous phenomenon that challenges this notion. This paper proposes a novel framework for understanding human body diversity, integrating concepts from embryology, genetics, and evolutionary biology. We argue that anatomical variation is an inherent property of human biology, rather than a deviation from a norm.
