Consumer Usage and Adoption of E-Banking
Abstract
Rapid advancements in technological environment spreads its unbounded services to all the sectors. Banks are now using the online platforms to deliver its services to their users as it helps in several ways. Especially it enables to use the banking services without any time limitations. The attractiveness provided by e-banking is encouraging the adoption of e-banking among customers. Thus, this study aims to investigate the factors affecting customers’ intension towards the acceptance of internet banking in Manmunai North Divisional Secretariat, Batticaloa. The objective of this study is to identify the level, relationship and impact of customer usage of e-banking and adoption of e-banking. Cross-Sectional Design was used for data collection. The target populations for this study are bank consumers from Manmunai North Divisional Secretariat, Batticaloa. 200 bank’s consumers were selected as sample. Convenience sampling used to select the sample to conduct this study. For the research information interval measures were used with “Likert’s five points rating Scale”. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 19.0 Version) used to evaluate the data received. The results found that levels of all selected variables are in high level. Further according to the results, factors perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust and government support has a significant relationship and impact on adoption of e-banking. The study results will be useful for bankers and bank management to enhance the adoption of e-banking.
